TAWTON PARISH COUNCIL Minutes of the
meeting held in the village hall on Tuesday 14th December2004 Present Councillor Spear
took the chair with cllrs Hutchings, Shapland, Stanbury and Williams. Also
present were 15 members of the public. Apologies cllrs Taylor and
Lock. Minutes of the
meeting held on November 25th were agreed and signed. Arising from
the minutes No copies of insurance documents for the Village Hall had been received; Mr Harvey
was to be contacted about these. The Codden Alliance meeting had not taken place in
December; the next will be on 12th January. A letter had been received from Mr Day thanking the
council for their kind wishes and an offer of more help if required. He was
to be contacted again with suggestions. Questions from
the public The future of the village was raised especially the
proposed building on the allotments off of Sentry Lane and their effect on
local service i.e. sewage, drainage and electrical supply. There followed a discussion on the problems of
flooding in the village, cllr. Shapland explained that storm flooding was a
separate issue to the sewage problem both of which the Council have been
trying to get action on but so far had been unable to get all parties
concerned together. The chairman explained that there was no more
information on the proposed building project other than that in the North
Devon Plan. Mr Macgregor asked if any information had been received on the
Chestwood parking, as no progress was being made the clerk was asked to write
to Mr Netherway and arrange a meeting as early in the new year as possible. The council was to help in getting a disabled plaque
put on the wall of the Post Office as the parking space was being abused. The condition and the parking on the Village Green
was raised, the chairman assured everyone that the matter was in hand. |
